This is the First time that Max has gotten to hold a Baby and Emma survived. Max did a good job at holding her head up. He was so excited that he was big enough to hold her though Claire did want her back. Max said that he would take her home and change her diaper and feed her her bottle and play with her.

Yeah! Corey Graduated with his Associates in Science in Criminal Justice!

AND Lucky Guy he got to Speak at Graduation! Max was wondering Why Daddy had a Kite on his Head! We are so proud! He gave a great talk and incorporated Max's favorite author Dr. Suess. AND he talked for 4 minutes! When was the last time Corey stopped talking at 4 minutes!?!

Yeah! Max is Three! The Frosting is a bit sketchy... It started to Run but Boy the cake was good. Max's Whole Family came to Celebrate and we had Pizza, Cake and IceCream! Then the kids played with all of the Balloons and max had fun with his new Tricycle and also got a Doodle board a little Thomas Train and 2 Big trucks. Boy is he getting big!

This is how I feel! I am CrAzY! I must be... Why would I leave a place I have worked for 10 years, a Family that I Love to go somewhere that I know is going to stress me out and is guaranteed to make me CRY! It is official I should be commited! I start work at Primary Children's on MONDAY the 23rd and orient there for 3 weeks and then I will orient at IMC on the 13th of February. I then will have to at some point take boards which will "officially" license me. I really need to take those by March...Aprilish... ARGH! The begining of this year is going to be a BRUISER!

Busy Busy. I figured that instead of going all of the way back and posting everything we had done in this last 6 months or so I will just sum it up. We have had a lot of fun, built many lego castles, made cookies, we went to the State Fair, I went to Florida for a Neonatal Review, Max was a Doctor for Halloween and We went on the Polar Express which Max loved and didn't even notice that Santa was Grandpa Emerson. Now that school is out I promise I will be better, but atleast this sums up the last 6 months or so.

Well, I've never posted anything on our family blog. I noticed my Wife never put a picture of my favorite toy. This is my sweet truck I've slowly been fixing up over the last few years. I've sold most all my other toys to help on getting threw college this last past year. I've put some time into making it. Hopefully I'll be able to get a sports car or a old muscle car later to build after Katie and I get settled and I of course get Katie the SUV she wants.

Max woke up at 430 this morning crying, he has been doing that lately, I don't know why I changed him rocked him and put him back to bed. Now I am up, thoughts are racing through my head of school, work, plans for how I am going to exercise and get Max everywhere.... and then I jump to what are we going to do with both Corey and I in new jobs (without seniority thus no flexibility). How are we going to juggle things where are we going to live? Argh!!! Anxiety, not a full on panic attack, but just enough that I can't go back to sleep.

Corey became an Elder 2 weeks ago, I should mention that, and this week he got his patriartical blessing. He has been such a hard worker, much stronger than I. I am so proud of him, and proud that he takes things very seriously when it comes to church, because I believe you should.

Max is getting so big and so tall, and I both love and hate the 2's. I am excited to see him continue to grow and talk and at the same time not so excited for him to have moments of "hating" me. I decided to do swim lessons with him this year which can I say are a nightmare!!! 1/2 hour every day for 2 weeks needless to say I have not followed through everyday in going. Your day revolves around swim lessons and he likes only some parts of it. Next year, next year will be better right? I feel like I am always applying that statement to everything. When will things REALLY calm down!

The Demolition Derby!

The first year I went to the derby was the year that I met Corey. The derby is held every year at about this time in Heber. It is so much fun!!! Especially if you are a people watcher because there is a really interesting mix from Park City to Wallsburg. There are a ton of people who dress up for the event. with mullet wigs, overalls fur vests etc.... Very fun.

Corey's parents were part of the judging group and got to sit in the box seats, they also got us great tickets close enough we all ate dirt. Before each heat we would pick our car my favorite... the silver car! Then during the derby Corey and I took Max to the pits and visited Corey's friends, that was really fun to see all that goes into one of these cars.

Corey especially had a great time he was sitting around a lot of the people he grew up with and got to talk (one of Corey's most favoritest things!). One of Corey's friends gave Max a bit of tissue to put in his ears, we had forgotten how loud the derby was. Max was mesmerized!!!! He was good the whole time and took turns sitting on everyones laps. I think we will go again. Hey if anyone else wants to go next year let us know early we'll get you tickets!

Finally I am out of school for almost a whole month, so Max and I decided to celebrate and I took him on his first Trax ride to the Gateway. We had so much fun and Max was pretty good though he thought a scary guy stole his seat on Trax and wanted him to move.
It was plenty hot at the Gateway and so we cooled off in the fountain with the other kids and ate lunch, shopped and then headed home, Max was sooo tired after that but he had fun. I love that he has no fear of people too, he wants to talk to everyone and loves everyone he must have gotten the "Talking" from Corey, I hope he never looses that.

On the 22nd there was a Wool and Sheep festival and so my mother and Max and I went to see the animals. Max loved it, well except the horse, he cried the whole time he rode the horse.

Ahh.... The Potty!

So Corey came home a couple of weeks ago with a little potty for Max figuring that at some point maybe he would be interested, so we got it out (just incase) Max was beyond thrilled to get the box open and to get it put together so he could sit on it. He insisted on putting it in the front room in the middle of it all! (Yeah, No!). So it went in his bathroom and everytime he went into brush his teeth he wanted to sit on it.

So like a week passed and Max started saying things like "utohh...peepee?" and he would try to pull his pants down and wanted to go sit on his seat. Curious hmm... I didn't teach him that... So I let him.... Come to find out, he is one of the youngest in his class in daycare and so the older ones they take to the potty or ask if they want to go potty throughout the day. Max has been watching. (I LOVE DAYCARE!) So now he seems to be "intune" with his bowels! He isn't actually going in the potty but I thought it was hillarious that here he sits toothbrush in one hand, car in the other pants down and DIAPER still on, on the toilet! (Yes those are Christmas PJ's hey, they still fit might as well use them!) He can't quite pull his pants up over his BUM yet though but then sometimes I have that problem too!

Corey bought me a Swingline Thapler from Costco because it was red and reminded him of Milton in "Office Space" Milton was right it doesn't bind up! I just stapled 30 pages together in one hit! LOVE that thing I had to take a picture of it. Oh and nobody better stick it in Jello!

So Max has this Piggy bank that Corey bought him (of course because Corey is the Saver). Corey and I have been teaching Max how to put change in it. He didn't like the idea of putting dollar bills in there at first because he thought that you only put change in it but he likes it and now we have to hide the piggy bank until he has change or I think he would carry it everywhere. If his bank isn't with him whatever he finds goes in his pocket. It is so cute to see him collect change and put it in his pocket, that is weird I know but he is so careful about it, it is cute. Every so often Corey takes him to the bank to put his change in his savings. He has quite the start of a College fund that boy.

Any chance Corey gets to plow he takes, and Max likes to go right along with him. He gets all bundled up and comes back with a red nose. Really it is funny to see him walk in his snow suit and boots do you remember "The Christmas Story"? Max would be a slightly modified version of Ralphie. They plow and I make the snowman, Max isn't too interested in making the snowman yet.

Max actually had fun opening presents this year. It took along time because he would rip only small pieces off but he enjoyed it.

We spent Christmas Eve night with Corey's family mainly and read the story about the Christmas orange. Then everyone got oranges, Max however was more interested in throwing his.

Karen gave Maurice a special gift wrapped inside many boxes including one that was ducktaped. He got a new wedding band, it was gorgeous.

I did actually get a clear picture but I thought this one was funnier. We tried taking a photo of the grandkids together at my parents house and I turned out to have like 5 pictures of Claire and Meghan moving around and Max sitting completely frozen. It was hillarious.

Well we didn't get to see Santa but we did get to see some of his Reindeer. Thanksgiving Point was taking care of them for Santa and so we went to visit them just before Christmas. It was Fun Max thought they were really neat.

So I know that there are no pictures to accompany this little UPDATE. Sorry it goes against the grain really.

School for me ended on the 4th of December! Yea! till Jan. 11th. I talked to my preceptor for my clinicals this next semester. I am nervous but she seems nice her name is Julie and she has credentials about a mile long! She is from Australia, and I believe will be my primary preceptor the whole year. I start clinicals also on the 11th with an orientation at PCMC.

Corey is just finishing midterms. His school is set up with 10 week terms. He is a little stressed. The 4 wheel drive when out on the 4 wheeler. He got a flat tire and his laptop stopped working. EXCELLENT! Still we are very blessed it seems like I am always seeing people who are so much worse off than we are, I don't know if it is just the social situations that I see at work or what but I really feel blessed right now.

OH.... Daycare we got daycare Yeah! Little Social Max will get to socialize yeah! We start in Jan and when he turns 2 he will be started in their preschool program. Wow... I thought preschool was for 4 year olds. He craves learning though one night I heard him talking in his room after I had put him to bed I finally went in and found him with one of his books "reading" using the light of his music aquarium. I think that is a good sign.

Christmas is coming Corey and I went shopping today. I know it's practically suicide the last weekend before Christmas. We enjoyed ourselves for a whie and then decided that we should just get Christmas for eachother after Christmas when no one is shopping and everything is on sale. So we will just enjoy Max's Christmas along with a couple of gifts.... Then we will probably forget about shopping and save money in the end.

Ok I know that this isn't really interesting but I felt that I really needed to write something and that is it!

Halloween!

So this year I had to work on Halloween as always so our Halloweens were separate but good. Corey and I dressed up for the first time in a LONG time. Corey went to Heber to do Trunk or Treat with his family and I well you already know what I did. Anyway. Corey said Max didn't quite get it at first but he was having fun just being out and about. We used his monkey costume from last year thinking that maybe we could just put brown sweat pants underneath them to lengthen the legs. Well you can see how well that worked but he didn't care he had fun anyway.

I was a piece of Gum on the bottom of a shoe.... I had a friend in High School Lara who dressed like that one year and I always wanted to try that someday.

Corey was the Grim reaper. I tried to talk him into being a banana to go with Max but yeah I guess it wasn't manly enough or something.

So forever ago! Ok maybe it was a month or two ago Roger and Gracie came to visit. Jonna had to stay in Idaho and work which was sad but we all went out to breakfast. It was so funny to see Grace and Max interact. Grace is almost just as tall as Max and she is 2 months younger. She was a little shy at first but warmed up. So we had planned to get Max's haircut by Jaime our friend just before family pictures BUT it has been driving me crazy so we decided to do it yesterday... It was a really long day.... Erika and Mel suggested "Cookie Cutters" So we decided to try it out. I figured that they would be use to moving and possibly screaming children so I thought it would work out great and it did. Though Max didn't think so. So they have this little toy set in the front of the store to play with while you wait and then they have all of these different vehicles and planes (with belts!) That the kids sit in. They even have video games and movies to choose from. OH and bubbles. Weston cut Max's hair I don't know that Max wants to go back but I kept staring at him when we left and for the rest of the day because it was just weird to see how grown-up he looked.

The Toy You Really Wish That You Hadn't Bought!

So I went to the toy store a month or two ago and thought it would be really cute to get this Lawn Mower toy. Kind of like those popping ball toys that we use to have where the balls popped as you pulled it around. This one was much COOLER though. It had noises in addition to the popping! It had a gas switch that "gulped" as you turned it and a starter cord that made engine noises I thought it was a great toy.... Until I got it home..... This Toy is the loudest toy you will ever hear. You can't study you can't watch tv you can't talk on the phone or even hold a normal conversation. It overpowers EVERYTHING and EVERYONE..... So after a couple of months of hoping Max would forget about it Corey found a New Home for it!

For Comcast's Work Party We Rented the Zoo in the Evening. It was Max's first time and was so much fun. I never really liked the zoo until I had a kid, it was fun watching him get all excited about the animals.

So as many of you may know we have moved yet again. This time it is a really good thing, I don't fall asleep on the way home from work, we are close to everything again and I am really close to Erika and Mel which makes school a whole lot easier. We like our ward so far, I didn't realize how grown-up our other ward was until we got here. I use to be paranoid about Max making noise and now everyone is making noise! Max also started nursery this last Sunday. He did great and is in nursery number 7! Only in Utah! He still runs to the 4-wheeler climbs on and pretends he is riding it and makes car noises. He likes to UNload the dryer to help me with the laundry and then climb in. He also has a facination with anything with wheels including Ash's Longboard!

There Thats my post for today I just transfered pics to my new computer so I will try to post more frequently!!

Wow It Has Been A While!

So I figure I should at least write a quick update. No pics yet Sorry!

Max- IS TROUBLE! He climbs out of his bed and can open the door no more sleeping in till 8. Normally he is up at 730AM and talks in his bed and I go in at 8 giving me a little time to prepare. No more. We are now also looking at getting him a real bed. He loves cars so I think it will be cars. I just have to find cute bedding of course. Max had his 3rd and 4th trip in a plane to Seattle this time and got to ride on the Ferry too. He did really well. He fell asleep on the way to Seattle and then on the way home he talked and was happy all of the time. The only bad thing was that the girl in front of him couldn't lay back her seat because then Max could kick it.... and he did.

Corey- Is thinking of starting a project car or truck. He has been looking around. He wants to as an outlet for stress of which he has plenty at work! I hate Comcast. My mom looked up a bunch of information for him on the Police Academy and POST test which has been very helpful. I went to UVSC and got him a couple of review guides and he got all of the answers right on the first review guide. He has wanted to do something in Law Enforcement for a long time. I think he should take advantage of it. They aren't really hiring right now so he has time to look into it and prepare himself.

Katie- 3 weeks is not long enough for a break from school! OH but it is long enough to get out of the Groove. I am having a hard time starting to write papers again. School started on the 17th. I am excited and actually really enjoying my textbook readings because they are actually applicable to the NICU. We have started our Core Classes now Yea! No more Adult stuff! I guess that is a good sign that I am in the right area when I actually like reading my textbooks.

The Fam--- We just got back from a family reunion in Seattle. My dad is from Seattle and we haven't seen them in a really long time. I think I was particularly excited because I remember everyone. I was old enough when we last went to visit. The weather was perfect! It rained really one part of one day and the rest of the time it was just partly cloudy and in the 60's and 70's it was wonderful. I love Seattle. I will post pics when I have them.

These are Max's Q's! Can you tell what he is trying to say? He reminds me of Linus from Snoopy. He will pull his blanket from between the bars of his crib, grab a binkie and come to me. Then he will plop himself on the ground with his blanket. When I get him a bottle he will walk with me and his blankie to his room and go for the rocking chair. Love It he is So Cute.

Does this wheeler look damaged? Nope the handlebars had to be readjusted but that was it. Apparently I am no match for a 700+ lb 4-wheeler.

This is the new tent trailer... MUCH MORE TAME!

So I am back! I am now momentarily caught up with my homework so I figured I would post my pics (non-gruesome) of course! So this all happened a week and a half ago but we went out wheeling with Corey's friends Nick and Hagen (his little boy), we met at 5 mile pass just past Lehi on Saturday morning. This was the first time Corey and I had really been out in a long time so we were looking forward to it. Corey has a 400 EX and I have a 750 Brute Force. Nick and Hagen brought their dirt bikes. While we were there we saw some of our other friends Eric and Amber and their two girls. I don't think we were there for more than an hour when I went down a hill following the guys and the wheeler slid to the side and hit into a rock and I went a flyin! My leg must have caught the handlebar and then the the wheeler rolled over on me. SLOW MOTION... Why do things like that always happen in slow motion? Corey pulled the wheeler off me and Nick got his truck and they carried me out of the reviene. I think I kicked into nurse mode or something I didn't really cry except when I thought about school and Max and Corey and all of the Crap I have to do in the next month! They took me to the ER in AF. I got to go get xrays and go to ultrasound to make sure I didn't need to go to surgery, then they put me out to clean my wound (THANK YOU!). I kept thinking my friend Janalyn would have really loved to be the therapist on to watch this. I guess my Therapist passed out! When I woke up the doctor was stitching me up and I wanted to watch so they sat me up and I watched. He was a great doctor I learned a lot about him and his kids and all that kind of stuff. ANYWAY. Now I am repairing. I had a drain and now I just have stitches, bruises, scabs and swelling. I am no longer attached to my crutches (thankgoodness!) I never had chaffed armpits until this last week. My incision is numb I think I did some nerve damage go figure. BUT I wasn't a WUSS! That is the important thing... right? :). So here are some pics. Oh so we sold the 400EX and the 750 is up for sale and we bought a Tent trailer! You can't get hurt in a tent trailer right? Ok here are my pics. If you want gruesome I will send you some later....

One of My Favorite Things to Do and UPDATES!

So I haven't posted in a while. School has had me going crazy! I had a little break this last week and Corey and I decided to go out 4- Wheeling. I hadn't been since before I was pregnant, long time I know. Well I managed to get hurt of course and have been laid up for a while soooo. I have time. I was looking for pictures to post of the accident and saw this one. I haven't really been able to put Max down to bed for a while and miss it so much. You just don't appreciate things until you can't do them anymore. I love rocking Max and putting him to sleep. He drinks his bottle. He pokes at my nose again and again.... I laugh and say NOSE NOSE NOSE NOSE .... He laughs. We say our prayers and I just rock him. I love it. I am on the mend I am happy to say. I will share "non-gruesome" pictures later of the event. I just wanted to post this today.

School is good. I missed one test that I can make up at the end of the semester. My "salad" is growing. I have cucumbers lettuce and tomatoes! They have survived my Brown Thumb!

Max is great he likes to swim, drink from a big waterbottle. He loves to carry around the bottle of Vicks Vapo and open bottles of lotion and Desitin with his teeth! He got away last night. I guess the front door wasn't all the way closed and he decided to bail and walked over to the neighbors and out into the street and then came back into the garage and tried to sit in his stroller. Corey was talking to Wendy (our niece) and showing her around and I was in my room. The neighbor knocked on the door and said Max was outside and sure enough there he was. Scary huh.... The neighbor said, "It just didn't look quite right for him to be running around!" We agreed. HOTDOGS... Yes hotdogs are a staple in Max's diet currently and tater tots. So healthy huh you feed them what they will eat I guess. He does love his veggies though especially peas and beans.

Corey is hard at work. He took off some time to take care of me. I hate being taken care of! I don't know if it is a nurse thing, a mother thing or a girl thing. ANYWAY. He has completed his Truck! It is just the way he wants it. It looks Great! He is getting ready to sell some stuff. "Wheel and Deal" He gets that from his dad. He got two new guns a leaf blower and a snowmobile trailer. He sold the inclosed trailer, he is selling the old refrigerator, some tires and rims, the snowmobile trailer and leaf blower and of course the 4-wheelers. I know he isn't thrilled about selling those but if you compare the amount of time that we have had to use them with the amount of time we have spent being injured from them.... It is a no brainer. Maybe someday we will get a nice sidebyside with roll cage and 5 point harnesses? I hope. We are however the proud owners of a tent trailer (thank goodness for large garages). Corey had a bad fathers day and the surprize gift was ruined by my jabbering in my dellirium in the hospital.

Cooper is enjoying the added attention that family has brought in caring for me and Max while Corey is at work. Cooper barks barks and then barks some more. The battery for the Zap collar is dead so he has gotten away with a lot of barking lately. Today Corey is picking up a new battery. Poor Cooper.

Max On A Better Day.

So today Max hurled! Officially he has the FLU. He has never had the flu before (lucky me) BUT today was the day and I worked last night yea! I never realized how gross it really is and how helpless I would feel. The only plus side is that he is more cuddly. I didn't know what to do though, I mean I am a nurse but our kiddos don't do this. So I called my mom and the Peds office thank goodness for experienced people then loaded him up and went to Walgreen's I got Pedialyte and such and went to check out and Max acted perfectly normal, he was trying so hard to have energy. I told the lady he was sick and asked if they had a disinfectant wipe for the cart, she looked at me funny and said they would take care of it, I knew she wouldn't that made me mad.

ANYWAY I have been thinking all day long about all the times when I was sick or hurt and my mom and dad took care of me. Poor them... They were really good parents they really must have loved us, you have to REALLY love someone to be willing to clean up THROW UP. Now I am going to be sick most likely, yea the CIRCLE OF LOVE! UGG I am so tired. Being a mom really makes you appreciate your mom. THANK YOU MOM.

So Max just keeps growing and learning new things, great new things! Like how to climb on the couch and drool all over it, how to feed the dog, how to pick flowers for Mommy, how to start and stop the washer and dryer, how to comb his hair and put on his shoes (attempts to) and how to tackle (believe me he has a HARD head!). So the flower that he gave me for mothers day bloomed it WAS so pretty until Max Picked it. Oh well more will grow. He waves at EVERYONE! He will try to get their attention and give them the biggest grin when they look. Everyone comments on how cute he is and smiles at him Max eats it up. He hates Church, officially. I see more walls of halls than I do ever get to sit in a class. Many times I wonder why I even bother to go when he can't be in nursery. Corey and I have had to resort to taking turns, taking him home, so the other can stay and listen September he will be in Nursery, I can't wait!

I have officially given up on the seed thing for now, and must say that if I ever had to live off of a garden grown by seed, I would die. Maybe I am just too impatient but I really like the starts from the nursery. I did finish planting all of my flowers on the back porch, I love them. I bought some herbs too and got a self watering container and am growing Lettuce, Tomato and Cucumber.

Corey is getting his office in order....... Still.... For all of you that have been to our other houses you would know that this is an ongoing thing with no end in sight. He is working hard and likes his job. His sister Ashley has been coming up to stay and he is really enjoying having her around. He also is excited about his new computer, the old desktop DIED. We sold our other homes everything worked out really well and I really think that was a big relief for Corey, but his wheels are always turning in that head of his and he loves the whole investing thing, we'll see.

Cooper is trying to go for walks more often and trying to find ways to escape from Max. He is bark bark barking and he loves to lay in the sun all day long. Oh to be a dog.

Mothers Day was great especially now that Max is One year older and sleeping through the night! Corey let me sleep in, got me Breakfast at Mimi's The Pain Perdu! Love that... and now it comes with a muffin too. Max got me a little planted daisy so cute and we had IceCream for dinner! Perfect!

Today is Monday and so far it has been good too. Max is sleeping right now so I am taking advantage of the time. He finally can get up on the couch with out assistance, not sure I like that. now there is drool all over the microfiber yea! He also climbed out of his crib this morning, how? I don't know because we took the bumper out a month or two ago because he used it to climb out. Hmmmm... He is learning. That is about all, I am on a break from school till the 26th and I am wondering how this semester is going to go. We are taking an extra class so that we don't have to next summer and it is a shorter semester than the others. So glad I am doing this with friends.

So I was thinking the other day.. I know amazing. I wanted to post something... But what hmmm.... oh ya how about the Easter pics I never posted and it is MAY. Any way before that lets see what have we been up to? Well I am finishing my first semester off with my last final tomorrow. I am organizing my office. I am preparing for my sister in law to move in. Ashleeeeee! I am planting still of course.... HMmmm.... Oh ya and what do I get to do for my 3 week break?? I get to go to the dentist and have 4 cavities filled and 4 crowns done... Yes I love spending money.... Especially when it causes me PAIN!

I also have been called to be on the Enrichment committee. Yes God Loves Me! I am excited. I need to get to know the women in the ward. I was affraid I was going to get primary which isn't bad at all it is just I wouldn't get to know the woment in the ward and then I would become Anti-social again. I did though have to contain my excitement when they called me in to give me the calling. I assured them that this would be a difficult challenge for me in my life and that I would prayerfully Attack it. You know they only give you callings that are a challenge so you have to put that in there. It will also work great considering my schooling Max and my whole schedule thing.

Corey and I have also been asked to volunteer at the Oqurrih (I don't know how to spell) Temple open house. Corey is excited because he is going to get to do security and be the big bad I mean Lovingly Forceful Guard of the many Ruffians you know. Ok so that is what is going on. I Started Planting Seeds!
I decided to learn how to use seeds, it is not easy they are tempermental little things but we'll see how they turn out. I had Forget me nots in Lehi and loved them, I also had the shasta Daisies and loved them too. I love Zinnia's and the Chives looked really pretty. I am going to plant tomatoes and hopefully zuchini or a melon maybe some pansies and maybe do some hanging baskets off of the balcony. We'll see.

I just replanted my daisies into a bigger pot "please don't die!" My Lavender Looks iffy it keeps wilting and is quite fragile right now. I hope it lives because that is the one I want the most! I haven't been able to find it anywhere so I it to grow. If it dies though then I guess I will have to search for it at the garden store.

I know I know I don't have any girls but I do have nieces and friends who do so I thought I could make those flower clips too. Cute huh.

This project I actually started around Christmas. I took AP art in high school and we did a section on jewelry making and so I learned to solder. I kept seeing these in stores and thought they would be fun to make for Christmas gifts. I found though that I was quite out of practice and didn't end up finishing them. I still need to even out some of the silver and put jump rings on them but you guys will get them this year... I promise hope you like them.

I saw this tutorial online and thought I would try it. It is a "Shag Rag Rug" You get a towel or t-shirts and cut them in strips and thread them in and knot them. I started using a towel but may decide next time to use t-shirts or sheets because the towel sure sheds a lot. Maybe that will go away after a couple of washings. It is really soft and cushy though I want to put it in Max's bathroom with his Monkey Shower curtain that Corey bought him.

This was Sarah (Corey's Sisters) wedding. She married Robert Alden Holt on March 27th in the Salt Lake City temple. It was gorgeous both days, must have been meant to be! I got to go to the Ceremony. That was really neat. I didn't realize how big the SLC temple is it is huge and thank goodness for people to lead you everywhere or I would still be lost in there. After the temple we had to find my car in the underground parking (so fun!). Then we went to lunch lunch was great and Max must have thought so too because he used me as his human highchair. I was a mess. They should make blow up highchairs. Then we had a break which was good because Max really needed to sleep! I did too. The reception was that night in Heber and then we went to the 2nd reception the next night in Riverton. It was fun but very tiring. I can't even imagine how tired Karen and Maurice and Rob's Parents must have been. Her colors were interesting. I wasn't sure I was going to like the accent color with the main two but she pulled it off beautifully. Her colors were a deep cranberry red and black with the accent of yellow. It turned out great. Probably the prettiest cultural hall too. I thought they should just leave the toule up there with the lights it was gorgeous. Rob made a waterfall too. He is quite creative. there isn't anything he can't do he is very smart and really good with his hands. The waterfall was made of tw0 large pieces of plexi glass together and tubing that followed up to the top then the water fell inbetween the two pieces it was gorgeous. They are going to Disneyland for their honeymoon and also stayed in the Inn on the Creek in Midway. They have an apartment nearby us which is great. They live right near IKEA! Great location. We love them we were so glad that they let us celebrate their wedding with them. They are such a happy couple now I hope they will start a blog..... HINT HINT.

So one of my classes is Nursing Research 545. I am not an Eloquent writer, I wish I was. My teacher posted this as the heading to one of the Units in the class. I thought it was very appropriate and said to myself, "thank goodness for computers or I would be killing trees left and right." Should I put that in APA format? Really, who comes up with all of these formalities to writing? I AM A NURSE for goodness sake! We have our own language, (our own shorthand I should say), nothing on a nurses chart is written in complete sentences and now I have to snap out of it and write for real. This too shall pass right? So I guess now you all have the answer to why my posts don't always flowwwww. I am a nurse, they aren't supposed too.

I lost my license last week. I was hoping I would have found it by now, but didn't. SOOO.... Today I went back to the DMV and got a new one, WITH picture. I of course had Max so the man taking my picture was nice enough to take it 3 times, as Max was climbing all over me. ALL 3 BAD of course. I came home and asked Corey if I was really that fat and ugly and if my New Bangs really looked that bad. Corey said I looked beautiful, so I took a picture of myself just to see. The "Bad Mom" Week.

This week has not gone as well as I had hoped, for both Max and I. We started with his first LARGE splinter, that had to be removed with a pin and tweezers. It killed me, you feel so bad. He got over it a lot faster than I did. Then Poison Control, ohhh... Max got a hold of one of the oil fragrance pluggins and ripped it apart and had oil all over his face along with the base in his mouth when he walked up to me. I worried of course so I had to call poison control, but I was paranoid that the ambulance would have to come, why?? Because the only other time I have had to call for possible poison ingestion was when Eric was young and I was babysitting and we thought he drank hairspray. Max was ok, he didn't go into distress. THEN.... I left the back door open for a second.... to check on Corey in the garage and Max (who I guess is quicker than I thought) was all of the sudden at the door, hoovering at the edge of the CONCRETE stairs 5 or 6 of them. I launched, but grabbed his arm just as he fell. He hit his head, twisted his arm and got his first shinner. He cried. I cried. then end to a bab mom week. That means that this next week cant be as DANGEROUS right? Ohhhh... I hate the guilt that comes with being a Mom. Anyway that was my Week. Here is the random picture. For the post.

This was so much fun. Thanks to all the friends and family that was able to attend. This was a great idea. Thanks to who's ever idea it was. It was so very nice to see our family get together. It's been rare these last few weeks, months. Thanks for everyone bringing so much food. It was yummy and lasted Katie and I for a week in left overs. We loved playing guitar hero. My wife is crazy. LOL. If anyone is ready for another Dinner & Game night just let us know. We really do enjoy have our friends and family over. Please let us know. Were just learning how to be good hosts. So I hope things went ok. Thanks again. It was a amazing close game to watch. Sorry Eric, You know I'm not a big fan of either teams. I was just teasing everyone. Corey this Summer, Trying to Convince Me That he Looked great with a Mowhawk!

I Love blogs with Pictures so today I figured it was about time to give everyone an update on life in the Emerson home and so here is my update sorry the picture just doesn't relate.

Katie is officially in School. It hasn't set in yet obviously or she would be studying right now instead of blogging. She just signed up for her favorite gym Lifetime Fitness it is her 2 hours of sanity in the morning. She is currently decorating the house with as much color as possible. (New Years resolution.... Let there be color in the Emersons' house in 2009). Taupe is not a color that she is allowed to buy anymore.

Corey is working and getting our life organized. He works really hard. Tonight he is sick on top of everything, (it is really gross to throw up but it is even grosser to hear someone else throw up!). He loves his garage, so much infact that he has it now painted! He is busy rearranging things hanging, organizing.... Really he is setting up a big "fort." We have been working on getting him to take a break a real break, can you imagine Corey sitting still?

Max is Crawalking. He stands and walks a couple of steps and then falls or sits down. He must be having a "non-growth" spurt because he only seems to like Graham Crackers and Milk right now. Max has also just been invited to his first friend birthday party! Yea! for his friend Logan. Max also loves REALLY Loves the jogger stroller Corey put together. He thinks he is a big boy in it.

Cooper has found a new pasttime, barking at the wind! the ice falling in the freezer, the deer outside, Max, everything he barks at everything. He also has gotten quite good at getting around Max before Max can get to him. Oh Cooper dog we need to take you for more walks!

Ok so I have to put this in here for all those who don't see my brother's blog. My brother Scott was so much fun to torture as a child and one of the things that we tease him about now is how cute he looked in a dress with his hair done when he was little. So we went to the Doctors office a month ago for our routine checkup and everytime we go we get this little form that tells us what Max should be doing in the next months. Well 9-12 months said that infants begin to mimick things that you do and say. We found out that not only does Max copy us but he will copy Cooper. Yesterday he found his way over to Coopers water bowl.... AGAIN and bent his head down to lap the water out of it. I died laughing while of course pulling him away.

So we moved as many of you know, AGAIN and in this house the bottom of the stairs into the basement has no door so we were having a really hard time keeping the upstairs warm well the other day Corey decided he would go by Home Depot and get something to fix the draft so for $25 he built our very own BAT CAVE DOOR! Take a look. It is 8ft x 4 ft and is hinged on and the back of it is reinforced with 2x4's it is really cool. He whipped it out in about an hour. Love him. Oh and Max got another balloon, he loves balloons they entertain him forever. I am thinking I need to invest in a Helium tank!

Lets just say that this Christmas was STRESSFUL! I like to finish things I like perfection, I have tried to work on that but it being Max's First Christmas, I was feeling the need to have everything in order and perfect..... Well it didn't happen and I ended up repeating to my self again and again, "It's ok, you can't do everything, It's not all going to get done......Breathe!...." It is really hard just to walk away and get yourself to believe that. I have been working on these charms this year for my friends and family (didn't get them done), I was making My Nieces cute aprons, (didn't get that done). I wanted to decorate the Christmas tree (partially got that done Garland mostly). I really wanted to have the house put together (disaster) and I wanted to have my family over for a post Christmas party and sledding followed by a weekend at the Cabin (That didn't happen either)! What did happen? We moved to Herriman, we got sick and sicker, and then really sick. We went to Nola's Funeral. We did get to have Christmas at my parents home, Corey's parents home and our own (That was really nice, Usually I work). We did find our new ward and I survived driving over the point. (My greatest fear!) Needless to say it turned out really good. Now we are feeling better (sort of we all are on Antibiotics). Corey goes back to work on Monday, and I start school on the 12th. OH and I placed my first PERC line Yea! Finally I was begining to really worry but I had Great Cheerleaders Erin, Keith, Ryan and Chocolate! (that is Julie's trick). Oh and the Slide show is supposed to go with this post Love You All

Corey's Grandmother Died yesterday morning. Nola. She is an amazing woman, I never heard her complain, she always welcome me and told me that she Loved me. She gave great Hugs and always seemed happy even though you knew that she had to be tired, she had swollen ankles and probably ached. One of my favorite memories of her was her doing the jig with her cane. She can dance and now she is really dancing! She really missed her Bernell she would say her prayers out loud every night and talk about Bernell. I wish I could have met him. This is my favorite picture of Nola just this Summer at the family reunion she had just won the contest along with Marsha for "Best Chili." Such a great smile.

Max gets tubes in his ears! Yeah! no more ear infections every 3 weeks. He got a balloon at the doctors office and 2 shots to help clear up his current ear infection. Tuesday, he gets his tubes! We tied his balloon to his pacifier and he crawled around with it all afternoon he even ate with it and tried to feed it cereal. He is such a good baby. Everyone was impressed at the doctors office with how happy he was with his ears looking like they did. He is patient. God only gives us what we can handle. Does that mean I am weaker because I got such a great baby, husband and dog? Hmmm...

Gregory R. Gordon 1951 ~ 2008 Beloved husband, father, son, friend and Doctor Gregory R. Gordon was called home to Heavenly Father November 24, 2008.Born March 9, 1951 to Reed W. and Renee Gordon in Salt Lake City. He attended Olympus High School and the University of Utah. He served an LDS mission to Northern Mexico from 1971-72. Upon his return he met and married his sweetheart Kristin in the Salt Lake Temple on September 13, 1973. After medical school he practiced OB-GYN for 10 years in Las Vegas, and moved to Provo where he has practiced since 1995. He has served on the Stake High Council, as a member of the bishopric, branch president, Gospel Doctrine leader and in the Young Men's organization. He is survived by his wife, parents, brothers Jeff and Drew, eight children Chaston, Carlin Spradlin (Kevin), Cameron (Candice), Cirina Hassler (Matt), Corinne Larsen (Jeff), Calvin (C.J.), Claire, Celeste and six grandchildren; Samantha, Jessica, Cole, Tyler, James and Eli. His joys were his family, his Savior, and being a partner with Heavenly Father in ushering his children into their earthly experience. His incomparable life of love and service cannot be captured in words. He will be missed by so many. A private funeral was held. The United Nations Environment Programme estimates that there are 46,000 pieces of plastic litter floating in every square mile of ocean.

I figure I better get a picture of Max in my Favorite Hooded Towel Ever. His Sharkie Towel I love it. He is almost too big for it but he is soooo cute. I found it at Target also one of my Favorite stores ever. I have been trying to upload my videos and they are not working, any suggestions? Anyone? Max is quite proficient at getting around now and I spend most of my day literally chasing him around. I can't imagine how it is going to be when he walks! He also is now just finished with his 3rd ear infection pretty much in a row and the fluid is still there in his ears he is plotting a course towards tubes in his ears. I am making an appointment tomorrow in anticipation for the inevitable, with Kipp Robins. Then I will be ready. I asked the doctor if it was a bad thing to be so anxious for tubes and he said no that they will help him hear and keep him from getting infections. They just have to have proof that it is a chronic thing that is not clearing up, which means 4-6 ear infections within the year. He is going to make that with no problem so tubes will be good.

Corey is now back to work after his back proceedure and seems to be doing well I miss him at home though even though I do like the quiet sometimes.

I am getting anxious for school. I just don't know how to do things with a kid, I have never done that before. I was telling Corey that I could go to St George and do clinicals in their unit and just pound my hours out in one month. Corey then reminded me that we have a Son..... What would I do with Max. I just am having to adjust things in a way I never had to before. I guess it will be a learning experience in more ways than one. Anyway I have Halloween pictures to get posted I will do that tomorrow. Katie

Fall is here and almost gone, time has gone by fast. Max just started crawling and now he is climbing the stairs, it terrifies me! We live in a split level home and have a lot of stairs. I recorded it lets see if I can load it. He loves anything that is Coopers too including his bone and his Food dishes.
Today we got our first rocking chair, yeah! It comes tomorrow we have needed it rocking Max on the edge of the bed may be good for the abs but bad for the back. Corey just finished doing everything he wants to his truck.... I think. It looks cool. I will have to upload some pictures. Corey needed it, he has been wanting to "beef up" his truck for a long time.

So I officially have decided to go back to school. I have applied and been accepted to the University of South Alabama Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Program. I start in January. Online in conjunction with our unit. I am going with my two good friends Mel and Erika. I am excited. I will be a Jaguar.

So today was Family Picture Day Yea! I have been wanting pictures with Corey's Family for ever! So we all got our schedules together and all met at our house at 3 and all went to American Fork Canyon. I was skeptical because I really didn't think that there would be any color left but there was and boy it was pretty. It was really fun to see Corey's Family too. All together. There were however snags here and there of course! Getting everyone there became the easy part it was the posing, where to take pictures and whose camera to look at that was the hard part. I always have thought that change was a good thing, and that it was just a new adventure. IN MY MIND! I am realizing now as my siblings and cousins are finishing school and getting married that things are changing and I don't know that I like it, really. I guess I just never pictured the inevitable, maybe I have just been in denial for so long. The other night at dinner my new-cute-sister mentioned something about living in Portland in the future and it caught me of guard. I asked my mom if there were any plans in the near future and she reminded me that Amber's family lives in Portland. WELL DUH! I guess she might want to live by her family. It just didn't really process until then. I just imagined Heidi and Scott moving back to Utah and Eric and Amber being here OH and all of the Tidwell's ending up here CUZ that would be really nice... I didn't think about the possibility family could move away. Corey said to look at the bright side if Eric and Amber move to Portland it would be a good excuse to go visit them. But I want them here. Who knows maybe when I finish school we could move somewhere..... And that is when I think to myself, how great would it be if we did have to move and everyone came with us! Delusional! I know! Anyway I guess things are changing and we'll adjust, we have too but I don't know if I am going to like it.

We had to leave early to go some where this last week and had to wake Max up so we went in and found him asleep in the strangest of positions. Usually we find him in weird positions but not this strange. I guess it is a good thing that he is flexible.

So we have this neighbor behind us who wanted to put up a fence, they asked around to see if anyone would chip in but really all of our yards are so small there really isn't a point so one day a couple of weeks ago we looked out the window to see 1 2 3 4 5 6...7...and 8 TREE's They had decided to make their own fence with trees and not small trees one of them is a sycamore, one is a fruit tree and the other 6 are going to be HUGE boarder trees! Wow.... I really don't think that they realize, 2 trees would have been too much for that yard but I had to take a picture.

Starli must have known Mike was the one because she is not one to jump in to things and she knew Mike was right. Their wedding was August 2! The day after Dayna's. It was in Cedar Hills. I hadn't seen her and her family in so long I miss them so much. Starli looked beautiful as always and I have never seen her so thoroughly happy. It was a lot of fun. Mike is going to be a surgical PA and Starli enters Pharmacy school in September to be a Pharmacist.

So then this last year we decided since Cooper survived being taken care of by us why not have a kid! Dogs are soooo much easier! You can kennel a dog! So 3 became 4 and on March 4th 2008 Maxwell Jay Emerson was born! Weighing 7lbs 14oz by c-section (because he was just too comfortable in there).
